PTPN IV PalmCo Reshuffles Board of Commissioners, Strengthening Oversight and Industry Synergy

PalmCo

Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News), Jakarta — PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (PTPN IV) PalmCo has reshuffled the composition of its Board of Commissioners. The changes were stipulated through the Shareholders’ Decision of PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV Number 304 of 2026, Number SK.103/DI-DAM/DO/2026 and DSPS/KPPS/31/2026 concerning the dismissal and appointment of members of the Board of Commissioners.

Under the latest composition, Desrial has been appointed President Commissioner of PTPN IV. The Board of Commissioners consists of Suyus Windayana, A. Azwar Ishak H. Manggabarani, Arie Yuriwin, Agustinus Antonius, and Joefly Joesoef Bahroeny. Information regarding their positions and appointments has also been listed in PTPN IV’s official corporate profile.

Three previous members of the Board of Commissioners Dahlan Harahap, Andi Wibisono, and Fauzi Yusuf have been honorably dismissed.

The changes represent a refreshment of the company’s supervisory structure as PalmCo continues to strengthen plantation productivity, farmer partnerships, operational efficiency, and downstream development in the palm oil industry.

Desrial Leads the Board of Commissioners

Desrial has a strong academic and research background in agriculture. He graduated from IPB University, earned a Master of Engineering degree from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand, and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Agricultural Engineering from Mie University, Japan.

In addition to serving as President Commissioner of PTPN IV, Desrial has also served as an Expert Advisor to the Minister of Agriculture for Precision Agriculture Development. He has extensive experience as a lecturer and researcher at IPB University and previously led the Yanmar Agricultural Research Institute Bogor Agricultural University (YARI-IPB).

The presence of a figure with expertise in agricultural technology and research provides an important perspective for supervising a plantation business that faces continuing demands to improve productivity and efficiency.

Desrial had already appeared in his capacity as President Commissioner during the PalmCo PSR Awards 2026, held in Yogyakarta on September 11, 2026. The event was part of PalmCo’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with independent smallholder farmers.

Strengthening Land and Spatial Management

Another notable figure is Suyus Windayana, who has a background in geodesy and land data management. He earned a doctoral degree in business management from IPB Business School in 2023.

During his career, Suyus served as Director General of Spatial Planning at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN), Secretary General of ATR/BPN, and Director General of Land Rights Determination and Registration.

His background is highly relevant to the plantation sector, where land management, spatial planning and land administration are important elements of long-term business operations.

Plantation and Financial Experience

Meanwhile, Agustinus Antonius serves as an Independent Commissioner. He has a background in agriculture, finance and agribusiness. Agustinus previously served as Director of the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) from 2015 to 2018. Prior to that, he also gained experience in banking and plantation companies.

His experience provides a perspective closely related to the palm oil industry, particularly in understanding financing, agribusiness and plantation management.

Senior Palm Oil Industry Figure Joins the Board

The appointment of Joefly Joesoef Bahroeny is also noteworthy given his extensive experience in the palm oil plantation industry. He has been involved in the management and boards of several plantation companies and has held senior positions in the sector.

Joefly is also known as a senior figure within the Indonesian Palm Oil Association (GAPKI). His professional background reflects many years of experience in the plantation sector as well as involvement in the palm oil industry organization.

Prior to the latest reshuffle, Joefly had also been active in PalmCo’s supervisory activities. In July 2026, he led a working visit by PTPN IV PalmCo’s Board of Commissioners to Regional VII to directly review operational conditions and discuss various issues in the field.

New Composition Amid PalmCo’s Transformation

The reshuffle comes as PalmCo continues its transformation as the palm oil subholding of PTPN. The company is also pursuing higher plantation productivity, stronger partnerships with smallholders, accelerated smallholder replanting, and further development of downstream palm oil businesses.

The Ministry of Agriculture has previously emphasized PalmCo’s role in supporting the acceleration of national palm oil downstreaming while improving productivity and the welfare of smallholder farmers.

According to data from Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO NEWS), the changes in PalmCo’s supervisory structure are noteworthy because the new composition brings together experience in academia, land management, finance, government administration and the palm oil industry.

With this new composition, PalmCo’s Board of Commissioners will play an important role in overseeing the company’s direction, particularly in improving plantation asset productivity, strengthening farmer partnerships, enhancing operational efficiency and developing downstream palm oil businesses.

For PalmCo, the challenges ahead are not only about increasing production, but also about ensuring that state-owned plantation assets are managed more productively and efficiently while generating greater added value for Indonesia’s palm oil industry.
