Currently, more and more palm oil companies are running their business with a high commitment to maintain the sustainability of the environment and their plantations. More oil palm plantation companies have obtained Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certificates.
The main topic in this edition is to highlight the performance of PT. Austindo Nusantara Jaya (ANJT), a well-known palm oil group which has viably received various environmental awards.
In 2021, ANJT, through its subsidiary PT. ANJ Belitung received the PROPER Emas award from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). Oil palm plantation of ANJT in Belitung is the first oil palm plantation to receive this award. Another ANJT subsidiary, namely PT. Sahabat Mewah and Makmur has even received the PROPER Emas awards for three years in row.
The PROPER Emas award is given to a company since it is considered to have implemented environmental management comprehensively. Another prestigious award which ANJT received is the Corporate Emission Award 2021. ANJT is considered successful in reducing the use of carbon emissions to save the earth from global warming.
ANJT is in the 3rd best ranking out of 92 agricultural companies in the world assessed by Sustainalytics, a corporate ESG risk rating agency. In the disclosure of commitments and actions related to forests carried out by an international non-profit organization, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), ANJT received the Leadership category, the highest category achieved by a palm oil company.
For research data at this time, IPO News displays the fatty alcohol industry, of which production and use keeps on increasing. In 2017 the production of fatty alcohol amounted to 864.6 thousand tons, soared to 1.66 million tons in 2021 and to 1.83 million tons in 2022. The same thing occurred in its export. In 2017 the export of fatty alcohol was 427.4 thousand tons increased to 681.7 thousand tons in 2021 and to 694.5 thousand tons in 2022.
