Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News), Jakarta — Tunas Sawa Erma (TSE) Group has strengthened its commitment to sustainable palm oil practices. In 2026, all of TSE Group’s palm oil plantation operating units have obtained Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) certification.
The achievement was marked by PT Papua Agro Lestari (PAL) receiving its ISPO certification on February 19, 2026. The certification completed the list of TSE Group’s palm oil plantation companies that have met the ISPO standards.
Previously, ISPO certification had been obtained by PT Tunas Sawa Erma in 2016, PT Berkat Cipta Abadi and PT Dongin Prabhawa in 2019, and PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun in 2024. With PAL receiving its certification in 2026, TSE Group now has five palm oil plantation companies certified under the ISPO standard.
MAINTAINING SUSTAINABLE PLANTATION STANDARDS
According to TSE Group management, the certification of all its plantation operating units is part of the company’s commitment to implementing sustainable plantation and palm oil processing practices. TSE Group Director Luwy Leunufna said the achievement reflects the management’s commitment to compliance and the implementation of sustainable plantation practices throughout the company’s operational areas.
The ISPO standard covers various aspects, including compliance with regulations and business legality, good agricultural practices, environmental and biodiversity management, labor responsibilities, as well as social responsibility and community economic empowerment, ISPO also incorporates transparency and continuous business improvement as part of its sustainability framework.
FROM PAPUA TO MALUKU
TSE Group is an Indonesian company engaged in palm oil plantations and processing, with operations in Papua and North Maluku. The five companies forming part of TSE Group’s palm oil plantation operations are PT Tunas Sawa Erma, PT Berkat Cipta Abadi, PT Dongin Prabhawa, PT Gelora Mandiri Membangun, and PT Papua Agro Lestari.
TSE Group began its journey in the palm oil industry in 1998. Over the years, the company has developed plantations as well as CPO processing facilities in its operational areas.
Company data indicate that TSE Group has six active plantation areas covering approximately 60,000 hectares, while its fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production has exceeded three million tonnes over the past three years.
ISPO AND INDUSTRY COMPETITIVENESS
For Indonesia’s palm oil industry, ISPO certification is not only related to compliance with government requirements, but also serves as an instrument to strengthen the implementation of sustainability principles throughout the Indonesian palm oil supply chain.
TSE Group has stated that it will continue improving environmental, social and operational management. The company also implements programs related to water management, biodiversity protection, controlled chemical use, and the utilization of palm oil mill effluent and other palm oil processing by-products.
