Is there a local certification company which provides services as complete as MUTU’s?
There are 3 types of Certification Institutions operating in Indonesia in terms of capital or shareholders, namely:
- National Private Certification Institute
- BUMN Certification Institute
- Foreign Certification Bodies
In terms of the scope of certification services which have been accredited by KAN, MUTU International is the Certification Body which has the most extensive and complete services in Indonesia.
According to IPO NEWS observations, many foreign certification companies have already been operating in Indonesia, what is your view?
The Indonesian TIC services market is still large, thus attracting interest from foreign certification bodies (LS) to enter and operate in Indonesia. The existence of foreign LS is not an obstacle for MUTU to continue to develop and compete in a healthy manner, so that MUTU will continue to increase its competitive advantage to become a leading TIC company.
Apart from developing competitive advantages, MUTU is also very open to synergizing with and building collaborations with foreign LS with the aim of mutually improving competence and obtaining mutual benefits.
After having been successful in Indonesia, could you explain if MUTU will expand overseas?
MUTU is possible to expand overseas. Currently, we have established various collaborations with foreign parties such as foreign certification bodies, foreign universities, and others. We do this so that we not only reach clients in Indonesia, but also clients abroad.
If there is indeed an expansion plan, how will it work? Because each country has different policies.
Before expanding abroad, such as collaborating with foreign institutions or even opening branches abroad, of course we carry out market research and feasibility studies so that we know what the market is like in the target country. In addition, of course MUTU will fulfill all the requirements needed in accordance with the country’s regulations or policies. MUTU will also appoint Human Resources who are experienced, competent and understand the market and regulations of the target country to be responsible for a branch in a country.
How do you prepare human resources to work abroad?
Currently, MUTU apart from having branch/ representative offices within the country, also has overseas representative offices such as in China, Japan, Vietnam, Malaysia. MUTU’s strategy for placing human resources in overseas representative offices is as follows:
- The recruitment process is carried out at the head office.
- Providing training at head office for 3 (three) months to follow the same work standards.
