Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News) – The energy transition and decarbonization in Indonesia have already run well so far. The energy transition and decarbonization are the processes of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) and CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by switching from environmentally unfriendly fossil fuels to clean and renewable energy. This effort is made to create a greener and more sustainable industrial environment.
Reportedly, the Government is currently actively promoting efforts to eliminate carbon emissions in various industrial sectors (Net Zero Emission), including in the national palm oil industry. Palm oil commodities are currently appraised as the plantation product which is mostly ready to support the achievement of Net Zero Emission.
KIS GROUP is a leading company with 18 years of experience in Asia and Indonesia, providing clean and sustainable technologies for biogas, BioCNG, BioCO2, and industrial wastewater treatment, to achieve Net Zero Carbon. In Indonesia, KIS GROUP has already constructed the first commercial BioCNG plant using palm oil production wastes.
The business development of KIS GROUP in Asia and Indonesia was revealed by Mr. K.R. Raghunath, as the founder and CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of KIS Group, in his chat with IPO News in mid-September 2024, as follows.
Would you explain the brief history of the establishment of KIS Group in the international world?
“Our company KIS GROUP is a leading and most awarded company in Asia, founded in India in 2006. Our company has 18 years of experience in providing clean and sustainable technologies for biogas, biomethane/BioCNG, BioCO2, and industrial wastewater treatment. We also provide consulting services related to biofuels, carbon footprint reduction, and achieving Net Zero Carbon Footprint with Carbon Credits. KIS GROUP has been appointed by several Fortune 100 global companies as a partner/vendor for their Biofuel/Bioenergy to achieve Net Zero targets”.
Could you explain the role of KIS GROUP’s business in the energy transition and decarbonization in Indonesia, especially in managing waste from palm oil production?
Raghunath explained “In Indonesia, KIS GROUP had constructed the first commercial BioCNG plant in 2013 using (managing) wastes from palm oil production. Our company is currently building a second BioCNG plant, which is planned to start operating in December 2024. Furthermore, the construction of the third Bio CNG plant will begin in October 2024. This is a significant development for the national palm oil industry and places KIS GROUP as a leader in decarbonization and energy transition in Indonesia. These projects also create more jobs in Indonesia”.
