Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News), Jakarta — Behind the growing business ecosystem built by Haji Abdul Rasyid in Central Kalimantan, two names from the next generation are taking different paths: Jery Borneo Putra through corporate leadership and Monica Putri Rasyid through community empowerment and MSME development.
Their roles are interesting not because they have been formally labeled as “successors,” but because of the steps they are already taking in their respective fields.
JERY BORNEO PUTRA: BUILDING HIS ROLE IN THE CORPORATE ARENA
Jery Borneo Putra is currently listed as President Director of PT Citra Borneo Indah (CBI). The CBI profile included in company reporting also identifies Jery as the ultimate beneficial owner of CBI. The position places Jery within the leadership structure of a business group with interests spanning palm oil plantations, downstream industries, industrial estates, maritime transportation and livestock.
His role is also closely connected to the ecosystem of PT Sawit Sumbermas Sarana Tbk (SSMS). As of June 2026, CBI was recorded as the controlling shareholder of SSMS with a 65.83% stake, while Jery was identified as the ultimate beneficial owner through CBI.
Jery’s current path can therefore be seen primarily through the corporate and business side of the ecosystem: taking a leadership role within CBI while remaining connected to the publicly listed company that serves as one of the key pillars of its plantation business.
MONICA PUTRI: BUILDING THROUGH MSME AND SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT
While Jery is active in the corporate arena, Monica Putri Rasyid has developed a different path.
Monica is known as the CEO of Abdul Rasyid Foundation (ARF) and Klinik Bisnis. Through these platforms, her activities include education, social programs and MSME development. Her involvement has continued through various ARF initiatives. In 2026, ARF remained active in education and character-development programs through schools within its community.
One of the initiatives associated with Monica is the ARF Pangkalan Bun 10K Run, organized to encourage healthy lifestyles while supporting positive community activities in Pangkalan Bun. Her path therefore has a different character: developing people, MSMEs and communities at the local level.
TWO PATHS, ONE ECOSYSTEM
What makes the two roles interesting is that they are developing within the same family ecosystem, while pursuing different areas of focus.
Jery is taking the corporate and business path.
Monica is taking the social, education and community empowerment path.
Corporate group structures published by the companies also show the names of Jery Borneo Putra and Monica Putri within the broader business ecosystem, reflecting their connection to the family’s corporate environment.
For IPO NEWS, this difference in direction is an interesting development to observe.
The growth of a major business group is not determined solely by asset expansion or business scale. It also depends on how the next generation develops its own capabilities, networks and areas of responsibility.
