Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News) – According to information received by IPO News, in 2025 Anglo Eastern Plantations will build its eighth palm oil mill through its subsidiary PT Kahayan Agro Plantation (KAP), located in Central Kalimantan, with an investment of approximately Rp 249 billion. The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the construction of the mill, which has a capacity of 45 metric tons of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) per hour, was completed the previous year. The presence of this mill enables KAP to process its own FFB as well as FFB sourced from smallholder farmers in the vicinity of the mill, thereby reducing transportation costs and ensuring timely processing.

PT Kahayan Agro Plantation (KAP)’s plantation and mill are located in Damang Batu Village, Kahayan Hulu Utara, Tewah, Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan, covering an area of 17,500 hectares. As of 2024, the area of oil palm land holding ISPO certification totaled 5,484 hectares, with a fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production of 43,147 metric tons.

Meanwhile, AEP Group is a leading palm oil and palm oil processing company in Indonesia and Malaysia. The company, which is listed on the London Stock Exchange, also owns rubber plantations. Its total palm oil plantations cover an area of 88,648 hectares, the majority of which are located in Indonesia, spread across North Sumatra, Bengkulu, Riau, Bangka, and Kalimantan.

Through its subsidiaries, AEP owns 14 oil palm plantations covering 65,996 hectares, as well as one oil palm plantation in Malaysia. By 2024, the average age of oil palm trees in Indonesia will still be highly productive at 14 years. AEP has 8,100 hectares of non productive plantations.

AEP operates 7 palm oil mills (PKS) with a capacity of 400 metric tons of fresh fruit bunches (FFB) per hour; 4 of these mills are equipped with biomass power plants. The combined CPO storage capacity of these 7 mills is 19,000 metric tons.

AEP has been operating its palm oil business sustainably by adhering to the principles established by ISPO and RSPO. The company’s mills use clean energy to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels, thereby lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
