Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News) – Recognizing the growing global attention on deforestation regulations, AEP a palm oil company committed to sustainable practices across all of its plantations, both in Indonesia and Malaysia adheres to national standards such as the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) standards.
Anglo Eastern Plantation has decided to pursue membership in the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). This decision reflects AEP’s commitment to achieving stronger, globally recognized certification for sustainable palm oil, while addressing criticisms related to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) and broader sustainability challenges.
The EUDR, which will take effect on December 31, 2025, represents a significant change in global trade practices. This regulation prohibits the import of agricultural products into the European Union (EU) that originate from deforestation or illegal sources, ensuring that goods consumed in the EU have not contributed to deforestation or forest degradation worldwide since 2020. Commodities, including palm oil, must meet strict due diligence requirements throughout the supply chain to gain access to the EU market.
Previously, AEP had also been fully committed to responsible and sustainable plantation management across all of its operations in Indonesia and Malaysia. Compliance with the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) and Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO) standards remains a top priority for the company.
