Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News) – The company was established on 11 July 1989. When it was acquired by CARGILL Group in 1996 the authorized capital of the company was US$ 112,579,000 of which US$ 112,579,000 was issued and fully paid up. The shareholder of the company was Cargill Asia Pacific Ltd of USA.

Based on the latest information received by IPO News that the authorized capital of the company was still US$ 112,579,000 of which the issued and paid up capital remained the same of US$ 112,579,000. The shareholders of the company were Cargill Tropical Palm Holdings Pte.,Ltd of Singapore and PT Cargill Foods Indonesia.

In 2009 the company revised its articles of association by following the adjustment of Law No. 40/2007 on Limited Liability Companies (PT) and the authorized capital was converted into Rp 834,612,580,000 with CTP Holdings Pte Ltd, Singapore as majority shareholder. This revised articles of association of the company had been approved by the Ministry of Justice of Republic of Indonesia through decree No. AHU 09891.AH.01.02 Year 2009.

Its palm oil business is growing after buying 30% shares of Temasek in Cargill Tropical Palm Holdings Pte Lte (CTP). CTP is the palm oil plantation business unit of Cargill, based in Singapore, which was established in 2005 as a 70:30 joint venture between Cargill and Temasek.

Until December 2024, CARGILL Group controlled 82,000 hectares of oil palm land in Indonesia and more than 50,000 hectares had been planted. Its oil palm plantations spread in South Sumatra and West Kalimantan.

The group employs 12,000 people and collaborates with 26,500 local partners or oil palm smallholders around the company’s plantations. CARGILL Group has been a member of the RSPO since 2004 and most of its oil palm plantations have received the Roundtable Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) and Indonesia Sustainable Palm Oil certificates (ISPO). More over, plasma farmers at PT HINDOLI has also received an official certificate for sustainable palm oil supply based on the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) standard from the European Union.
