Genting Plantations: FFB Output Up 9%, First-Half Revenue Reaches RM1.72 Billion

Genting Plantations Berhad

Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News), Jakarta — Genting Plantations Berhad recorded stronger operational performance in the first half of 2026, supported by higher fresh fruit bunch (FFB) production and favourable weather conditions across its plantation operations.

FFB production increased by approximately 9% year-on-year to 1.02 million tonnes in 1H2026. The positive production trend continued into July, with cumulative seven-month FFB production reaching approximately 1.2 million tonnes, up 10.9% from the same period last year.

Reflecting the stronger production performance, the company raised its full-year 2026 FFB production growth guidance to 5%–10%, compared with its earlier expectation of around 5%.

Revenue Growth Remains Strong

Genting Plantations reported revenue of RM1.72 billion in 1H2026, representing an increase of approximately 16% compared with RM1.49 billion in the corresponding period of 2025.

However, net profit stood at RM208.98 million, compared with RM253.83 million a year earlier. The performance indicates that while higher production supported revenue growth, profitability remained influenced by palm oil prices and operating costs.

The company’s plantation business continues to be the main contributor to overall earnings, with higher crop production providing an important operational foundation for the remainder of the year.

159,926 Hectares of Planted Area

Genting Plantations has a substantial plantation footprint across Malaysia and Indonesia.

As of the end of 2025, the group had 243,246 hectares of total land area, including 159,926 hectares of planted area.

Of the planted area, 136,773 hectares comprised the group’s core oil palm estates, while a further 23,153 hectares were under its plasma programme.

Within the core oil palm area, approximately 118,099 hectares were mature, while 18,674 hectares were classified as immature.

In 2025, the group produced approximately 2.01 million tonnes of FFB and 525,760 tonnes of crude palm oil (CPO).

Replanting for Long-Term Productivity

Replanting remains an important component of Genting Plantations’ long-term plantation strategy.

During 2025, the company completed the replanting of approximately 2,880 hectares across its Malaysian operations. Although replanting can temporarily reduce production from affected areas, it is intended to strengthen future estate productivity and optimise the age profile of the plantations.

The company has not publicly disclosed a specific 2026 replanting investment figure in the information reviewed. Nevertheless, the continuation of its replanting programme demonstrates the group’s focus on maintaining the long-term productive capacity of its plantation assets.

Stronger Production Supports 2026 Outlook

Genting Plantations expects production to benefit from additional harvesting areas and the progression of immature palms into more productive age profiles.

With FFB production already showing double-digit growth during the first seven months of 2026, the company enters the remainder of the year with a stronger operational base.

For Genting Plantations, the combination of higher production, a sizeable planted area and continued replanting remains central to sustaining plantation performance and strengthening productivity over the long term.
