Indonesian Palm Oil News (IPO News) – APICAL GROUP, a leading company in Indonesia dealing with palm oil processing industry, announced significant expansion through an investment US$ 1 billion in Dumai – Riau starting from the end of 2021 until now. APICAL GROUP, which has been acting as a midstream palm oil processor, has been fully committed to supporting the downstream program by expanding its product range.
According to Manumpak Manurung, Head of Government and Industry Relations APICAL Group at the Annual Media Meet Up event in Jakarta on 20 February 2024, that this investment is a strategic step for APICAL in supporting the Government’s vision to increase the added value of the Indonesian palm oil industry. Through downstreaming, APICAL can make a significant contribution to the national economy, create jobs and support the growth of MSMEs.
Manumpak further explained that the production facility located in Dumai is equipped with the latest processing technology to ensure production efficiency and sustainability. With increasing capacity, APICAL hopes to meet the needs of domestic and international markets for high quality processed palm oil products.
Through this latest facility, APICAL not only increases its production capacity but also has a broad positive impact, especially on MSMEs in Indonesia through the Tasty Creations program. The ‘Taste Creation’ program was run throughout 2023 has so far succeeded in inspiring and supporting various MSMEs in Indonesia, especially Java, in creating innovative and quality food products.
According to APICAL Group Market Development Manager, George Tjiptamustika, by utilizing APICAL processed palm oil products, MSMEs can improve the quality and variety of their products, open up new market opportunities.
George also revealed that throughout 2023 APICAL has collaborated with various stakeholders, starting from the local government, companies operating in the food industry, as well as MSMEs. Through collaboration with MSMEs, Apical hopes to help stimulate the growth of MSMEs in the food industrial sector, while strengthening the image of the APICAL brands, especially Vitas, Medalia and Frybest.
Besides, the collaboration with local MSMEs also provides the opportunity for the wider community, including MSMEs, to explore various food creations from APICAL products.
